Baby Glow Maternity Session | Olana State Historic Site, Hudson, New York | Catskill Maternity Photographer
I’ve heard it a million times before, and in fact, at one point during my pre-kid life, I thought the same – why would anyone want maternity pictures? Your emotions are on edge, you feel uncomfortable and tired, and your body feels somewhat foreign to you.
There are so many times that you might feel like you can’t wait for pregnancy to end, but as soon as it does, no matter if you hated or loved being pregnant, you WILL miss it. Those kicks to the rib, the hiccups that kept you up all night, they’ll be gone, and you’ll realize just how short 40 weeks really is.
These sessions are not just about showing off that beautiful baby bump either. It’s about documenting the connection and love between you and your partner, as it is, right now. It’s about marking all of the excitement and anticipation as you anxiously wait to hold your baby in your arms. And that’s exactly what this couple wanted their photos to be.
Cassie has always known she wanted to become a mother, and once she found Nick, their love story was set and sealed, and it was as easy as that. They now patiently wait for their baby boy to arrive in early June, and of course, wanted to capture their love in an amazing location fitting to them, and of course in the warm, early sun of spring….so why not throw her in some blue lace on a mountain (Olana State Historic Site), oh and add a snowstorm that dumped almost three feet of snow the week before their session! Thankfully, these two are incredibly fun, and are absolutely infatuated with each other, which helped keep everybody warm! The beautiful view of the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains didn’t hurt either. Dealing with all that cold (and some fabulous March wind) was worth it!
Huge thank yous to all the creatives to pull this beautiful, snowy mountain maternity session together.
